Within my future classroom I want to foster and create a safe environment where students are able to learn from one another and accept new ideas and ways of thinking. I enjoy trying new ideas and going on unexpected paths of learning, I hope to show students that there are a number of ways to solving or understanding a problem. Embracing students’ strengths and qualities is a key way of assisting them to fit into the world around them. As we teach who we are, I hope my students can be compassionate, empathetic, and confident individuals who value their unique qualities and interests through fostering life long learning.
I believe that everyone should be riding the same wave and working together towards the same goals. Students should be in an environment where opportunities allow their creativity to flourish and abstract ways of thinking is encouraged. Through incorporating their interests and needs and creating meaningful learning experiences I hope students do not feel the need to ask why we need to learn this, and instead understand the connection of the curriculum to themselves and the world we live in. The use of hands on activities will allow students the opportunity to use critical and creative thinking and expose them to develop a growth mindset.
I would like to work within an environment where students and staff motivate each other to their best ability and extend each other’s personal limits through constant reflection and evaluation. I highly value relationships and believe they enhance both student and teacher learning and assist in making learning exciting and interesting. To foster students learning and achievement I hope to engage parents and carers into the learning process through open communication and reflection. My future classroom will be a place that students are eager to come each day to learn and independently grow.
