During the NoTosh training days deeper thinking and inquiry based approach was discussed. This developed my understanding and knowledge of how to implement resources into the classroom to effectively engage students into the inquiry based learning process.

Students enjoyed participating in daily hands on and playful learning through the use of a range of resources including sensory items to keep students engaged in the lessons. Within the math unit (Figure 3 and 4), students were often encouraged to explore capacity (holds more/less) using a variety of containers and materials without instructions.

I created Interactive White Board (IWB) resources to engage students into the learning process using a hands on approach. Task shown in figure 6, asked students to select and drag a suitable answer or to circle a specific object, allowing students to have a deeper understanding for the lesson outcome. On reflection of capacity resource (figure 6), I could improve this activity by asking students to move to the side of the room of which object they think holds more/less instead of one students circling or asking as a group.

During my time in Baan Nam Khem, Thailand, resources were continually made to assist students in learning English through a game based approach. Flashcards engaged students in their learning as they were able to then identify the object using both Thai and English.
